STEAL LIKE AN ARTIST: 10 Things Nobody Told You About Being Creative

by Austin Kleon

My mentor Balazs Kardos’ mom (the epic Zsuzsanna Kardos), recommended Kleon’s manifesto one day in our daily Accountability Group text thread. Just glimpsing this creativity manifesto on my nightstand brings me joy. As Fast Company co.Design writes, “The book is filled with engaging anecdotes and helpful tips from Kleon’s transformative experience, as well as quotes and stories from big names ranging from Gide to Goethe to Questlove.” (Right?)

The ten principles Kleon offers up include: Nothing is original (so embrace influence and “remix and reimagine” to discover your own path), follow your interests wherever they take you and write the book you want to read and make the movie you want to watch. Stay smart, stay out of debt, and risk being boring in the everyday world so that you have the space to be wild and daring in your imagination and your work (and your one, precious life).

HYPNOTIC WRITING: How to Seduce and Persuade Customers with Only Your Words

by Joe Vitale

This book is actually hypnotic as Vitale takes us through the enchanting experience of…copywriting. Coming from a background in Fine Arts and Special Education, personal and professional development of this nature are key for me as my business grows. Hypnotic Writing (first published more than twenty years ago), is updated with additional text and fresh examples (especially from e-mail writing), so the marriage of reliable recommendations and updated information is golden.

“The principles of hypnosis, when applied to copywriting, add a new spin to selling. Joe Vitale has taken hypnotic words to set the perfect sales environment and then shows us how to use those words to motivate a prospect to take the action you want. This is truly a new and effective approach to copywriting, which I strongly recommend you learn. It’s pure genius.”

THE MIRACULOUS PROPERTIES OF IONIZED WATER — A Definitive Guide to the World’s Healthiest Substance

by Bob McCauley

Ahhh, if you know me at all, you know that in the last 2 years, I have become obsessed with the medicine of water. Water is our best defense against diseases of every kind. Sixty percent or more of all chronic diseases would be significantly reduced if people would simply keep themselves properly hydrated, but the enigma is that answer doesn’t lie in just drinking more water.

To ionize means to gain or lose an electron and the ionization process involves robbing an electron from one molecule and transferring it to another. Both Alkaline and Acid Ionized Water have extraordinary properties and benefits, however, their respective uses could not be more different. We consume Alkaline Ionized Water and use Acid Ionized Water on the outside of our bodies for acne, cuts, scrapes, and rashes of all kinds. It kills bacteria on contact and encourages plant growth.

The centerpiece of Alkaline Ionized Water is its antioxidant properties. It is miraculous that we can actually instantly transform normal tap water into a strong antioxidant. Alkaline Ionized Water has two antioxidant qualities, its negative charge and the presence of hydroxyl ions which are free radicals. The body is starved for electrons and Alkaline Ionized Water contains an abundance of them, which nullify free radicals in the body. One can actually thrive on half the normal intake of food as long as one consumes high electron-rich nutrients. Alkaline Ionized Water is an extremely effective antioxidant because it is a liquid that has a small grouping of water molecule clusters and thus absorbs more easily into the body where it can be of immediate use. Drinking Alkaline Ionized Water gives you energy through better hydration and alkalization of the body and by providing the body with oxygen.

Because of the predominance of hydroxyl ions in Alkaline Ionized Water, the water becomes alkaline, meaning it has a high pH. In our home, pH levels are adjusted with a Kangen water ionizer between 7.5 and 9.9, which is the highest consumable pH recommended for consumption. All disease thrives in an acid environment in the body and will not flourish and thrive in an alkaline environment.

HEALTH IS WEALTH: Make a Delicious Investment as You

by Andrea Beaman

Natural Foods Chef and Holistic Health Coach Andrea Beaman was a guest speaker recently in my Integrative Nutrition Health Coach Program curriculum https://tinyurl.com/2zdrxmzn. Since I am fascinated with food and water as medicine (see above), I am intrigued by her work.

For many people, taking on better health and eating habits can seem like a daunting, expensive, and time-consuming task. From this perspective, my interest in healthy eating as the key to losing weight, increasing energy, and boosting immunity, is inspired and informed as Beaman helps motivate lifestyle changes that can transform our bodies, minds, and spirits. Additionally, when our four boys were little and wouldn’t eat what I cooked (as my well-meaning husband broke Rule #1 and innocently catered to their wants rather than needs), I acquiesced and relinquished to him for years. I am ready to take back my kitchen and position as the healer of the home.

Beaman further discusses what the food labels really mean (don’t be fooled by deceptive marketing!), the simple solution to creating truly balanced meals for your unique body, the essential kitchen tools needed to get started, menu plans that can help you make the most of your meals as well as lifestyle strategies to help integrate these tools into our daily routines.
